Physio Tanah Merah: Local Physiotherapy in Logan City

Tanah Merah is a small, mostly residential Logan City suburb of about 4,750 people (2021 Census) on the Logan River, bordered by Slacks Creek, Shailer Park, Loganbrook, Meadowbrook and Bethania. There is no physio clinic inside the suburb — our clinic is at Daisy Hill, and this page explains who we see from Tanah Merah, how funding works, and what to expect.

Physiotherapy for Tanah Merah residents

Tanah Merah covers about four square kilometres, with the Tanah Merah Shopping Plaza at Sambit Street and Tansey Drive and parkland at Hanlon Street, Tahan Crescent and Tansey Park, where a Logan City Council boat ramp gives access to the Logan River. It has no schools of its own — the nearest government schools are at Loganholme, Shailer Park and Kimberley Park.

We are upfront that we are not in Tanah Merah itself: our clinic is in Daisy Hill, in the same Logan City council area. Whether you want help with a niggling knee, a sore back, balance as you get older, or a return to sport, the sections below explain what we treat, how the funding works, and how to book.

Common conditions

What people most often come in for

The conditions we treat most often across Logan City are back pain and sciatica, knee pain, shoulder problems, hip pain, ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis and neck pain. Each guide explains what the research says, what a realistic recovery looks like, and when to see a doctor first.

If your main goal is strength, balance or staying independent as you age, read our knee osteoarthritis guide and osteoporosis exercise guide. If you are a runner or a weekend sports player, our hamstring and tendon guides are the place to start.

Our services

What we can help with

Most people start with a standard appointment, then move into gym-based rehab as they get stronger. We also offer clinical Pilates, hydrotherapy, women’s pelvic health and men’s pelvic health, vestibular physio for dizziness and acupuncture and dry needling. For older adults we run falls prevention and ageing-well physio. Our team is on the team page, and when it will change what we recommend we use VALD force-plate testing to measure strength and asymmetry rather than guess.

Your first visit

What a first appointment involves

We start by listening: what has happened, what you have already tried, what you want to get back to, and anything that worries you. Then we examine the area, and the joints and muscles around it, and test movement and strength. You leave with a clear explanation of what we think is going on, a plan that starts with what you can do yourself, and honest advice on how long recovery usually takes.

Most problems improve with active care — progressive exercise, load management and education — rather than passive treatment alone, and that is what our gym-based space is built for. If we think you need imaging, a specialist or your GP first, we will say so. Wear or bring clothes you can move in, and bring any referral, scans or care plan you have. Follow-up visits build on the first: we check what has changed, progress the exercises, and adjust the plan until you no longer need us.

Funding

Paying for physio if you live in Tanah Merah

Private patients can claim on the spot through HICAPS — see our physiotherapy fees page. If you have a chronic condition, your GP can prepare a care plan, and Medicare rebates physiotherapy item 10960 at $63.40 from 1 July 2026, for up to five allied health visits a calendar year pooled across professions — see Medicare physiotherapy. DVA card holders are billed directly for accepted conditions (see DVA fees), and NDIS participants who are plan-managed or self-managed are welcome (see NDIS rates). Injuries from work or a car accident run through WorkCover and CTP pathways.
