Who is covered, and for what
Gold Card holders are covered for physiotherapy for any condition where treatment is clinically required. White Card holders are covered for treatment of their DVA-accepted conditions — we confirm eligibility with DVA before treatment starts, so bring your card to your first visit. In both cases there is nothing to pay and nothing to claim back: DVA is billed directly.
To start, you need a referral from your GP (or from a treating specialist or hospital discharge). The referral opens a treatment cycle — explained below — and our team handles the paperwork with DVA from there. More about our veteran care is on the main DVA physiotherapy page.
DVA physiotherapy fee schedule (effective 1 January 2026)
These are the amounts DVA pays the physiotherapist per consultation — shown so you can see what your entitlement covers. They are not amounts you pay.

Specialty items (PH83, PH84, PH41) can only be billed by physiotherapists with recognised post-graduate training in that field, sit outside the treatment cycle, and are delivered in rooms. Session limits beyond those shown need DVA prior approval. Daisy Hill Physio provides both vestibular and pelvic health physiotherapy.
The treatment cycle, in plain English
Since October 2019, DVA physiotherapy runs in treatment cycles. Your GP referral opens a cycle of up to 12 sessions. At the end of the cycle your physio sends a report back to your GP, and if you need more care your GP simply opens another cycle — there is no cap on the number of cycles when treatment remains clinically necessary.
Two useful exceptions: veterans who are Totally and Permanently Incapacitated (TPI) Gold Card holders are exempt from the treatment cycle for physiotherapy, and the specialty items above (vestibular, pelvic health, lymphoedema) sit outside it as well.
Coming: the biggest DVA fee uplift in 20 years
The 2026–27 Federal Budget committed $169.7 million to increase allied health provider fees for Veteran Card holders from 1 July 2027 — the largest investment in veteran allied health fees in more than two decades. Nothing changes for what veterans pay (still nothing), but it means more clinics will keep taking DVA patients. We have treated veterans in Logan since 1987 and that is not changing.
