Aged Care Physio
Daisy Hill Physio provides falls prevention, balance retraining, osteoporosis-safe strength training and post-fall rehabilitation for older adults across Daisy Hill, Springwood, Slacks Creek, Shailer Park, Underwood, Loganholme and the wider Logan and south Brisbane area. Treatment is available privately, under Medicare GPCCMP, DVA, NDIS, and through aged-care Home Care Packages (HCPs) — in clinic, in hydrotherapy, or as approved home visits.
What we treat for older adults
- Falls prevention and balance retraining — structured, evidence-based programs to reduce falls risk in adults over 60
- Post-fall rehabilitation — restoring confidence, strength and mobility after a fall
- Osteoporosis and osteopenia — safe loading and strength training to preserve bone density
- Osteoarthritis (knees, hips, hands) — conservative management before considering surgery
- Post-joint-replacement rehabilitation — knees, hips, shoulders
- Vestibular and dizziness conditions — including BPPV (a major cause of falls in older adults)
- Muscle preservation during weight loss — including for patients on GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro), where targeted strength work protects lean mass and bone
- Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke recovery, multiple sclerosis — mobility maintenance and falls-risk reduction
Why falls prevention matters
One in three Australians aged 65 and over falls each year. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related hospitalisation in older Australians. Most falls are preventable with the right combination of strength training, balance work, vision and medication review, and home-environment optimisation. A physiotherapist-led falls-prevention program typically reduces falls risk by 30–40% in the first six months.
Our approach
Every older adult who comes to us for falls prevention or aged-care physiotherapy starts with a 45-minute assessment covering balance, strength, gait, vestibular function and a brief environmental review. From there we build a tailored program — almost always combining clinic-based supervised exercise, a home program you can do safely between sessions, and where appropriate, clinical Pilates or hydrotherapy classes for graded loading.

Frequently asked questions — aged care physiotherapy
Do you do home visits for older patients?
Our primary delivery model is clinic-based; we do have free parking right at the door and wheelchair access. For patients who genuinely cannot attend in clinic we can discuss home-visit options under HCP, NDIS or DVA funding.
I’m worried I’ll fall during exercise — is that safe?
Our falls-prevention programs are graded for safety. The first session is always supervised, low-intensity, and we never progress faster than your balance and confidence allow.
I’m on Ozempic/Wegovy/Mounjaro for weight loss — can you help with muscle loss?
Yes — Teya in our team has a particular focus on muscle preservation during GLP-1-medicated weight loss. Targeted resistance training under physiotherapy supervision can substantially reduce lean-mass loss during weight loss.
Will Medicare or my Home Care Package cover sessions?
Both can. See the funding pathways list above for what applies to your situation, or call us and we’ll talk through your specific case.
Am I too old to start?
No. Strength and balance improvements are measurable in adults into their 90s. The best time to start is now.
