Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is rehabilitation in a warm-water pool, where the buoyancy and resistance of water allow you to exercise with far less pain than on land. It’s a great option for arthritis, chronic pain, post-operative recovery, and anyone who struggles with weight-bearing exercise.
What we treat
- Warm-water pool (32–34°C) reduces joint load and muscle tension
- Physiotherapist-led individual and small-group sessions
- Ideal for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
- Post-surgical rehab (hip, knee, spine)
- Fibromyalgia and chronic pain management
- Covered by most private health extras; NDIS and DVA eligible
How to book

- Chronic lower back pain — where land-based exercise is too painful
- Fibromyalgia & chronic widespread pain
- Deconditioning after illness — including post-COVID, post-cancer, post-cardiac event
- Balance retraining — the water provides a safe environment for falls-risk patients
- Pre-natal & post-natal exercise — gentle reconditioning
What to expect in a hydrotherapy session
Each session is led by a physiotherapist who tailors the program to your goals. Expect a 45–60 minute session combining strengthening, range-of-motion, balance and cardiovascular exercise. The pool is heated to approximately 32–34°C, comfortable for most patients including those with arthritis.
