About 10,400 people lived in Slacks Creek at the 2021 Census, and it is one of the most multicultural suburbs in Logan. The people we see from there are just as varied. Some are tradies with a back that won’t settle, some are parents or carers, and some are older residents worried about falls. Here are the questions they ask us most.

How close is Daisy Hill Physio to Slacks Creek?

Drive south on Kingston Road and turn right onto Allamanda Drive, just past the Daisy Hill Hotel. We’re in Unit 4, with parking on site.

Most people from Slacks Creek are with us in under seven minutes. You can find the full directions on our Slacks Creek physio page.

Do I need a referral to see a physio from Slacks Creek?

Not for a private appointment. Book online or call, and we’ll match you to the right person.

Funded care is different. Medicare, DVA and WorkCover each need paperwork from your GP or doctor before your first visit.

What can I claim: Medicare, DVA, WorkCover, NDIS or private health?

With a GP chronic condition plan, Medicare covers physio under item 10960. The schedule fee is $74.55 and the rebate is $63.40. That gives you up to five allied health visits a calendar year, shared across all allied health professions, not five each.

The 2025 referral change helps. Since 1 July 2025 your GP’s referral doesn’t need a session count. It is valid for the period stated, or 18 months from your first visit. See our Medicare physiotherapy page for the detail.

DVA Gold and White Card holders can start with a GP referral, and there’s more on our DVA physiotherapy page. For WorkCover we need your medical certificate and accepted claim number. We work with NDIS participants who are plan- or self-managed. Private health rebates are claimed on the spot with HICAPS, so you only pay the gap.

Can I see the same physio every time?

That is what we aim for, and it matters more than most people expect. A study of 7,748 compensated Australian workers with low back pain found that only about 37% had complete continuity with one physio.

Those with complete continuity had a median 11.1 weeks of compensated time off work, against 62.2 weeks for the lowest-continuity group. That is an association, not proof of cause, but it is a sobering gap.

Five physios, one team. Your notes, your plan and your progress stay in one place, so you never restart your story. Meet the clinicians on our team page.

What if English isn’t my first language?

Understanding your plan is part of the treatment. A 2025 systematic review of 26 studies found the best results came when the clinician shared the patient’s language. Professional interpreters came next, and in-person or video interpreters beat phone ones.

A 2025 review of musculoskeletal care also linked language barriers with delayed care and worse function. It is US-based, so read it as a pattern rather than a local number.

What we can do today: arrange a free TIS translator for you or a family member, on request. Tell reception when you book and we’ll set it up.

How quickly can I be seen, and when are you open?

New patients are usually seen within one to three business days. Call before 11am and same-day appointments are often possible for acute problems, and WorkCover and DVA referrals are prioritised.

We’re open Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 6:00pm and Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm, and closed on weekends.

What do Slacks Creek patients usually come in for?

Back and neck pain, sports and work injuries, post-surgery rehab, and balance or dizziness problems are all common. So are pelvic health, and strength and conditioning for runners and lifters.
