Gym-Based Rehab
In-clinic strength rehab gym, supervised by physios, programmed against VALD data.
GYM-BASED REHABILITATION
Bridging the gap between physio and real strength.
Most physiotherapy ends where a healthy person could start training. We close that gap. Our in-clinic gym is supervised by physiotherapists, programmed against objective VALD data, and structured around your specific goals — whether that’s lifting heavy, running far, or simply walking without fear.
WHAT WE TREAT
Who benefits from gym-based rehab.
Strength criteria-based return to sport, not calendar-based.
Programming-aware rehab. Get back to the bar, not just out of pain.
Healthy ageing strength work, bone-loading, falls prevention.
Graded return-to-load after pelvic floor recovery.
Strength as the long-term answer when manual therapy plateaus.
Functional strength programs aligned with plan goals.
EVERY PATHWAY ACCEPTED
Private extras, NDIS, DVA, Medicare CDM, WorkCover.
Gym-based rehab is a physiotherapy service, not personal training. Billable through your private health extras under the physio code. NDIS where it fits capacity-building goals. DVA Gold/White Card with current referral. WorkCover where return-to-load is required.
HOW IT WORKS
Programmed, supervised, retested.
Sessions start with VALD baseline and goal-setting. We programme strength, conditioning and skill work that matches your sport, life or goal. Retest every 4 weeks on VALD — we adjust load based on what your numbers say, not what your feelings say. Equipment includes barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, balance equipment, force plates and reformer.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Gym-rehab patients ask us …
Is this the same as personal training?+
No. Sessions are programmed and supervised by physiotherapists for a clinical purpose — rehabilitation, return to sport, healthy ageing, NDIS capacity building — not general fitness coaching.
Can I claim gym-based rehab on private health?+
Yes — billed under the physiotherapy item code on your extras cover.
Do you use VALD during gym sessions?+
Yes. Baseline test, retest every 4 weeks through a training block. The programming is informed by the actual force and asymmetry data.
Can older adults use the gym?+
Absolutely. Healthy ageing strength work is one of our biggest gym-rehab areas — falls prevention, bone-health loading, sarcopenia management.
What if I’ve never trained in a gym before?+
Perfect — we’ll teach you. Sessions are scaled to your starting point, whether you’ve never lifted or you’ve been competing for years.
