Hydrotherapy

One-on-one warm-water rehab for arthritis, post-surgical recovery and chronic pain — 1:1 hydrotherapy for Logan and Brisbane south, never a group class.

HYDROTHERAPY

Hydrotherapy — when gravity is the problem.

Warm-water hydrotherapy lets you load earlier, move more freely, and rebuild strength when land-based exercise is too painful. Programmed by physiotherapists, delivered in a heated therapeutic pool. Perfect for arthritis, post-surgical recovery, chronic pain and healthy ageing.

HOW IT WORKS

Programmed, supervised, scaled to you.

Initial assessment is a land-based physiotherapy consultation. Hydrotherapy sessions are then delivered one-on-one with your physiotherapist in the heated program pool at Logan North Aquatic Centre, 2 Sports Drive, Underwood — a short drive from our Daisy Hill clinic — with structured warm-up, mobility work, strength and balance, and graded conditioning. Every session is one-on-one: your physiotherapist is in the water with you, working only on your program. We do not run group hydrotherapy classes. Our hydrotherapy program is led by physiotherapist Ben Birchall.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Hydrotherapy patients ask us …

Do I need to be a swimmer?+

No. The pool is shallow enough that you can stand throughout. We don’t do laps — we do structured movement and strength work in warm water.

How warm is a hydrotherapy pool?+

Around 33–35°C — warm enough to reduce muscle guarding and arthritic stiffness, without being too warm to exercise in.

Can I claim hydrotherapy on private health?+

Yes — under the physiotherapy item code, since sessions are delivered by a physiotherapist.

Can NDIS or DVA fund hydrotherapy?+

Yes — NDIS when it fits Capacity Building goals, DVA Gold/White Card with current GP referral.

Is hydrotherapy safe for post-hip-replacement?+

Yes, once your surgeon has cleared you for water (usually 4–6 weeks post-op once incisions are fully healed). Warm-water rehab is one of the safest early-phase options.

Is hydrotherapy at Daisy Hill Physio one-on-one or a group class?when gravity

Always one-on-one. Your physiotherapist is in the pool with you for the whole session, working only on your program — we do not run group hydrotherapy classes at any venue. The program is led by physiotherapist Ben Birchall.

Where are hydrotherapy sessions held?when gravity

In the heated program pool at Logan North Aquatic Centre, 2 Sports Drive, Underwood QLD 4119. Your first appointment is a land-based assessment at our Daisy Hill clinic (Unit 4, 11–13 Allamanda Drive, Daisy Hill QLD 4127); pool sessions are then booked at the aquatic centre.

Do you offer hydrotherapy for Brisbane south as well as Logan?when gravity

Yes. Underwood sits on the boundary of Logan City and Brisbane’s southern suburbs, so we see hydrotherapy patients from Rochedale, Rochedale South, Eight Mile Plains, Kuraby and Runcorn as well as Springwood, Daisy Hill, Slacks Creek, Shailer Park, Loganholme and Underwood. This is Logan in Queensland, Australia — not Logan, Utah.
