WHAT WE TREAT
Falls Prevention conditions we see from Springwood
Balance rehabilitation
Targeted balance training that progressively challenges stability — proven to reduce fall risk.
Strength for falls reduction
Lower-limb strength is the strongest single predictor of fall risk. We build it back, sustainably.
Post-fall recovery
After a fall — restoring confidence as well as physical capacity, so the fear of falling doesn’t cause the next one.
Vestibular & dizziness
BPPV, vestibular hypofunction and balance disorders contributing to falls.
Gait & walking aid review
Walking pattern assessment, stick or frame fitting, and gait retraining where indicated.
Home hazard review
Practical advice on home modifications that meaningfully reduce fall risk — without over-medicalising the lounge room.
OUR APPROACH
Falls are predictable. So is the prevention.
Most falls in older adults come from a known set of risk factors — strength loss, balance decline, vestibular issues, medication interactions. We assess each one, build the highest-leverage intervention into a 1-on-1 program, and progress it sustainably. Falls are not an inevitable part of ageing.

COMMON QUESTIONS
FAQ — Falls Prevention physio for Springwood residents
I’m worried I’ll fall during exercise — is that safe?
Programs are graded for safety. The first session is supervised, low-intensity, and we never progress faster than your balance and confidence allow.
I’ve already had a fall — is it too late?
Not at all. Post-fall recovery is one of the strongest indications for physiotherapy — restoring confidence as well as capacity. The earlier the intervention, the easier the path back.
How long does it take to get from Springwood to your clinic?
Around 5 minutes by car via Springwood Road and Allamanda Drive. Free off-street parking at the clinic, ground-floor entry and wheelchair access.
Do you have other patients from Springwood?
Yes — we see a steady flow of Springwood residents at the Daisy Hill clinic across Springwood Road, Cinderella Drive, Murrajong Road and the Logan Hyperdome catchment. Many Falls Prevention patients first hear about us through their GP, support coordinator, or another Springwood family.
Can I claim through private health fund?
Yes — HICAPS on the spot for most major Australian health funds. You only pay the gap.
